Hear this flute in action:
Here we have a beautiful and unique western cedar, purple heart, and wenge drone flute with turquoise inlay in the knots of the wood. The natural patterns and textures of the particular piece of wood used to create this flute were exceptionally gorgeous. This flute is in the key of low E flat on the North American Indigenous Scale and the wonderfully clear sound compliments the eye catching beauty of this flute perfectly.
This scale is rather rare to come across, as we are one of the only flute makers to use this scale on a regular basis here at Singing Tree Flutes. The North American Indigenous scale is special because it dates back to pre-colonization. This scale was played by the indigenous people in the Great Plains. This scale was passed down to Miguel by one of his Lakota elders who was very passionate about this scale and the old style of playing the Native American flute. The authenticity of this scale is what makes it so special, as well as its beautiful sound.
