Beautiful concert flute made from an elderberry branch with a purple heart mouthpiece and a purple heart sound block with pumice stone and turquoise inlay.
This flute was made by Miguel's apprentice Mike Kapsimalis at Moonkat Flutes. These elderberry branch flute are unique and beautifully made from elderberry branches from Mike's property. The branch gives the flute an organic shape and natural grain that you simply can't reproduce with milled lumber. Elderberry has a long history of use in Native American flutes and whistles. That gives the wood a particularly meaningful connection to this type of instrument.
A Minor is expressive and approachable, at a good middle key that makes the flute not too high pitch, without being difficult to play.
