Celebrating 30 Years of Crafting Native American Flutes (1996–2026)
For three decades, Singing Tree Flutes has been creating exceptional Native American–style wooden flutes that blend sound, art, and spirit. Founded by master flute maker Miguel Medina in 1996, our journey began with a single handmade flute and has grown into a world‑renowned name among players, collectors, and healers across the globe.
The Story of Singing Tree Flutes
Miguel learned the ancient art of flute making under the guidance of John “Eagle Heart” Ginther in 1996, beginning with simple, traditional tools. By 2001, he officially founded Singing Tree Flutes, gaining recognition on eBay and establishing a reputation for his soulful tone and artistic beauty.
From marking holes by hand to mastering modern tuning precision, Miguel has evolved into one of the world’s leading creators of handcrafted wooden flutes. Today, his instruments inspire players on every continent, celebrated for their clarity, resonance, and sacred artistry.
Innovation Meets Tradition
Miguel is both a master craftsman and an innovator. His pioneering designs have shaped the future of the craft, including:
• 8‑Hole Aeolian Alternating Drone Flute - one of our bestsellers and a true modern classic
• A wide range of exotic musical scales such as Aeolian, Arabian, and Anasazi
• Unique styles including Contra Bass flutes, Double Drone flutes, and Collector Series flutes
Many new flute makers turn to Miguel for guidance - whether through his instructional videos or mentorship - and often aspire to follow in his footsteps as creators and sound healers.
What Makes a Miguel Flute Unique
Each Singing Tree Flute reflects Miguel’s dedication, craftsmanship, and deep spiritual connection:
• Meticulous detail in every cut and curve for superior tonal balance
• A master ear trained to perfect each note by breath and intuition
• Custom builds in virtually any size, scale, or frequency
• Functional artistry - merging sculpture, sound, and spirit
• Cultural respect rooted in Miguel’s own Indigenous lineage and his spiritual connection to the Native American flute tradition
“We must never forget where this craft comes from. Every flute is an offering of gratitude to the culture and spirit that made it possible.” - Miguel Medina
Looking Toward the Future
After 30 years of innovation, Miguel’s vision for Singing Tree Flutes continues to expand. What’s next:
