Here is a flute that is very special. Miguel doesn't make these too often, but it is very unique and super fun to play. It is based off of a traditional Hungarian flute, a major scale drone flute! It is made of black limba with curly walnut accents, a gorgeous wood combination. It can achieve 1.75 octaves, giving more diversity to the flute, and can be played slow and meditative or upbeat and rhythmic. This one also is an alternating drone flute that has a thumb hole on the drone side that plays the fifth of the scale when uncovered. This makes for some gorgeous harmonies! This is the tuning that most NAF players use to play Amazing Grace and other contemporary songs, as well as Irish tunes and middle eastern (bansuri) songs. Take a listen to the video to hear what it can do. It produces a clean, vibrant and up beat sound quality.
