So here we are again, a new year, a new day, a chance to do things a little different. It seems like the world, is starting to open up to new ways of thinking, new ideas in the way that we function as a whole, positive, more conscious ways of thinking. This flute series is in honor of this new day, where I'll be incorporating unique designs new, as well as old, always trying to take my flutes to a higher level in sound and artistry. This Particular Flute tells a story... about The Bird who never lands. There was a time, long ago, where the Great Spirit, was unhappy with what he was seeing in the world. He said " No one is living in a good way any more, no one has care and respect for eachother and the gifts I gave them on this earth. No one puts down tobacco anymore to show their gratitude. Because of this I will destroy this world. All the creatures of the earth had heard about this, and Wabeski Benesse, The Great White bird, came to the Great Spirit and pleaded, " You cannot destroy this earth, there are still people who are trying to live in a good way, still people who have great love and respect for you and for all of your creation." So the Great Spirit listened to Wabeski Benesse's plea and said," OK,I will not destroy the earth, but you must be my over seer, to make sure people are still living in a good way. So from this day forth you must never land, you must fly above the earth watching the people, and when the day comes where people stop putting tobacco down, and appreciating all the gifts I gave them, then that will be the day when this world is no more" So this flute tells the story of the bird who never lands, showing the great white bird and a woman putting tobacco down, and the people from new and old raising their hands in grattitude for the sun that shines upon their face and for the gift of the breath of life. The body of this flute is Alder, and the end caps are of purple heart and maple, The fetish is a maple, "Great White Bird" Feather, with a woodburned scene. This is a stunning edition to my New Day series. It's sweet, full, clear low bass tone will get your listeners attention and is easy to play, with a solid bottom note and comfortable finger spread. A great collectors piece! Enjoy!
